Cherish Vox Box Thanks Influenster!!

So I signed up for Influenster to agree to test products for free and review them. I love my boxes I get, but my latest has been my favorite!! I saw things that I would definitely purchase in the future and use over and over. It contained Motts Juice, dog toy for Rudy from Bark Box, Vera Wang Embrace perfume, Dove Care for Men deodorant spray, and Pantene Pro V Foam Conditioner. My favorite has been the perfume and I plan on buying some more since I just ran out. Rudy loves his squeak toy and has chewed on it a lot. Ensley enjoyed the Mott's Apple Raspberry Juice and sipped on it all day. Tim tried the deodorant spray but it particular about his deodorant but he said it was a nice try. I used the Pantene Pro V conditioner, but it didn't help my hair because it was for fine straight hair and I have thick wavy hair. Overall though this was the best best ever!!

Well...it's been 3 years!!!

Hello.....I have come upon my blog again! Let's just say a lot has happened since my last blog post in 2014!!!! I am still teaching Zumba. No longer a substitute teacher...I am now with Early Head Start program in Albertville which is like 5 minutes from my house which is awesome! My brother got married! Tim and I are still married.....and now we have a BABY!!!! Her name is Ensley Marie. OMG She is the best thing to have happened to either one of us! She is almost 3 months old now. She was born November 15, 2016 at 7:31 p.m. weighing 7 lbs. and 13 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long. I taught public school last school year 2015-2016 and was pink slipped or let go at the end of the year due to cuts in the school system. I loved it even though it was quite challenging. Just hoping to get my foot back in the classroom whenever I can. I love working at my job now. I love the younger children and wish I could have gotten my degree in early childhood instead of elementary but I love both so its all good. I hope all has been well with the rest of you! I can't complain about much...everything has been going so great!! Well guess I better go.....give updates hopefully more when I can remember I have a blog! LOL!

Digital Storytelling in the Classroom

I would like to learn how to use digital storytelling. I think it would be neat for students to be able to record their own stories and then be able to share the video to the class. I have seen some children doing this in classroom, but have not been hands-on with this application. If a teacher decided to use digital storytelling in the classroom, they would need to consult the school's AUP because the teacher would be using a digital source. A video of a student is confidential because it shows the student and gives the name of that student. Digital storytelling is a type of podcast because the student is giving information about a topic he or she chooses. The teacher might have to go over these policies with the students so that they know the etiquette of making a video. The subject matter and content should be clean and not about another person unless creating a biography or autobiography. The use of the device is also included in an AUP so the student would need to be aware of how, when, where, and what the device is used for outside of the classroom if needed. These videos could be shared to other people in the school district, so the teacher might need to tell the students what is expected from them by providing a rubric and going over these policies and guidelines in a serious manner. Also some students may not realize the digital laws, access, rights and responsibilities, or security which is laid out in an AUP. The students might also decide to use a character in their story which might be copyrighted so they would need to know that they have to give credit where it is due. If the teacher saw that the district or school was not up-to-date on their AUP, then she might want to say something for the protection of herself and students. Digital storytelling is a great resource to make reading fun, but the technology side of it could be dangerous if not handled in a safe way with the students. If the teacher decided to share it on their blog or class website, she would have to make sure the parents were aware of any policies and confidentiality dealing with the videos.

Our Cruise!

Okay guys...most of you have seen my album from our cruise...so I will just go through our itinerary for the week and go day by day. So we left Friday morning, found a hotel about 2 hours away from Ft. Lauderdale to crash for the night. Woke up Saturday, got breakfast, drove to Ft. Lauderdale, got through security no problems and boarded the boat. Independence of the Seas was very nice and Royal Carribean had some of the greatest staff I have ever met!! We had such a fabulous time. We got aquainted with the boat, ate some dinner, and just walked around. The first 2 days were on the seas so we swam, ate, rock climbed, and just hung out and found activities to participate in on the boat. We participated in 70s trivia and went to a disco party they had at the Promenade which is where all the shops are located. First port of call was St. Maarten. It was nice and we did shopping for a bit and then decided to walk where we found this guy who hooked us up with a taxi ride to view the whole island and the best food I have ate in a while!!! Only downfall no sweet tea on our trip :( But thankfully we had Diet Coke and Coke products. So the next port of call was St. Kitts. It was beautiful!! We did a tour around the island and shopped..not much to do there....I did get my ring fixed! They replaced the diamonds for me, but last night one of them fell out again....oh well! We will eventually get me another set! Anyways, next port of call was our shortest in Puerto Rico. We went to the fort they have there where war took place and walked through the city. Not really much there either. Last port of call was Haiti! It was the most beautiful beach and thats what we did all day was lay on the beach, eat, and nap! I felt bad for the Haitian people because they really are poor and try there best to sell their goods just to feed their families at night. We bought some beautiful things and had an overall wonderful experience. Tim's brother Brian proposed on our first formal night which was Monday I believe and it was soo sweet so I wont be the only girl in the family anymore :) I loved formal nights and getting dressed up! The best part was being on the ship with the greatest people besides my family!!! I enjoyed every moment!! We went to the ice show which was awesome, we participated in karaoke(okay well Tim did anyways), we participated in The Quest (just had to have been there) which was a scavenger hunt for adults inside the theater!! I had an awesome trip and glad to be back to my pups Rudy! Best part is Tim won a poker tournament on the boat and we got a free cruise in December!!!!! YAY!!! Thanks for reading....hopefully things will go good this summer for us...and I will be an aunt soon!!

2013 is here!!

Hey guys! I haven't written at all in a long time for the new year. 2013 has been great so far! I have been booked solid for subbing and for new schools too!! I have been added at Attalla Elementary and West End Elementary so it is going great...and of course I am still with Gadsden City that I love!! Well, Tim has officially started his morning show as of today!! So listen to 99.3 for Gadsden or 92.7 for Oxford...him and Scott do such a great job and I am happy for them!! I am patiently waiting and supporting him like any good wife would do. I have decided that I am just going to have to bite the bullet and go back and take classes to renew my certification but it will be okay because eventually it will pay off! I just hope I have the money to go back somehow!! That is the only thing that worries me! We set sail next Friday for our cruise!!! We were given a cruise for Christmas as a present from Tim's family!! I am excited...we will be visiting St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, and Haiti for 8 days!! Cannot believe Spring Break is almost here!!! And my nephew is almost here!! I am SOOOO EXCITED to be an aunt in my family!!! Dallas is such a blessing to us and I hope that eventually I can get a job and become a mom too!! Kinda a scary thought though!!! Anyways....my sister has moved back from Mobile and everything seems like it is falling into place!! Life is going great right now...no complaints!!!
